Rin is rather subtle about it, but it's very noticeable how happy he is when he sees it's one of those days when you're there to assist the PxG team. He respects you and the work you do so much and always makes sure to avoid putting more work on you. Instead, he puts that work on Claire and Mao because he thinks they're annoying. In the entirety of Blue Lock, you're the only one who ever got a hug from him. A kiss on the cheek as well, but that's your secret.

Shidou is INCREDIBLY OBVIOUS with his simping. Pick up lines and flirting all the time. But even though he's. Uhm. He's Shidou. He never says anything sexual towards you. He's so careful and soft towards you, he avoids making you uncomfortable. To everyone else, it seems so out of character for him - and yeah, it is out of character for him to suddenly be so soft. But he appreciates the work you do so much, he can't help himself but treat you special.

Now, about Nanase? He's literally the sweetest. Always greets you so politely and asks how you're feeling. If he needs your help with something, he always makes sure you don't have much work to do that day because he doesn't want you to work so much harder than you already do. He constantly compliments you for everything you do and thanks you over and over and over, even if you did a small thing like refilling his water bottle.

Of course, Karasu, Zantetsu and Tokimitsu appreciate your work a lot as well! But you won Rin's, Shidou's and Nanase's hearts a lot more. Plus, you can't have everyone for yourself. After all, there's also Claire and Mao.

About Karasu and Claire. How did that even start? It actually started with Claire simping for him, but in secret. You told Karasu about it and the feelings became mutual. Now he's constantly flirting with her and nobody knows if they're dating or still only teasing each other. Well, nobody knows except for you. You've caught them making out at night in the hallway once, but promise to not tell anyone.

Zantetsu and Mao became best friends extremely quickly and they're almost inseparable. There's definitely more than a friendship between them, but it's not romantic or anything like that. Mao keeps calling him her platonic boyfriend, though. Zantetsu doesn't properly understand what that means, but he acts as if he does. They love each other very much - just in a strong platonic way.

Tokimitsu is always a bit intimidated by his teammates and was very nervous around the assistants at first. He's always so afraid to ask you or the others for help, even if it's for minor things. But Mao pays a lot of attention to him and always notices when he needs some assistance. Definitely some platonic simping going on between them.

GOD GOD GOD YES YES YES!! I GET TO TALK ABOUT MY SILLY HEADCANONS!! (spoiler alert: they're not that silly, I love to watch Dream suffer in a blorbo way) Gonna put this under a read more cause holy damn it's getting long-

Before we start, I think it's kinda obvious at this point, considering I always use they/them for Dream, that I heavily headcanon them to be Non-binary; it makes a lot of sense to me! also to list off the self-indulgent headcanons, definitely AuDHD. Like Ink. Yeah. They're both ND as HELL, and also, since I LOVE it when people think of the sanses as having their creators' nationality + accent + knowing their languages; for me Dream's spanish, which is great cause I am spanish too! and I love Dream :3

(and also bc I think it's cute that both Cross and the twins can speak spanish following that headcanon, like they can gossip in secret teehee :3)

Now, to start, well, well, well, well... I feel like people don't play enough with the fact that Dream and Nightmare are basically just energy; like, Nightmare does use his appearance and properties to kinda scare people but he's also not the same NM under the tree, so it changes, but Dream tho!!

I wrote a oneshot once on AO3 where Dream's like very excited over very mundane technology for us, and Cross is the one to kinda explain to them how that works (and NM too, it was a wholesome platonic fic with Cross bonding with the twins), while Cross also takes note of all the very... magical qualities the twins have, fae-like even. It's kinda well-known that Core and Dream are good friends but for me, part of why they connect well is bc they're both in that strange cusp of "neither monster nor human; knowing a lot about this world but still struggling to connect with it on an organic level", bc of Dream's knowledge on the balance and energies and Core's--- whole thing.

Also, it is canon that Dream has a fear of owls bc they can turn their heads 180º and they have big eyes so Dream finds it spooky that they can always look at you, and I can't confirm if this is "100% canon" but I've been told that Dream's claustrophobic as well. Now, other things that I'd say would be hard triggers for Dream, well, people say apples could trigger them but personally? I think apples must be nostalgic to Dream, both bc Nightmare and also bc they represent their mom; I'd say Dream just gets rather extreme nostalgia around apples, probably not fond of ACTUALLY eating them tho lmao

Personally, I'd like to expand on the claustrophobia thing bc of course it'd remind them of their time as a statue, the small space with no way of connecting with the outside, that'd spook them, but I wanna expand it to them getting extremely anxious whenever they can't move in any way; so like, they heal fast bc of their healing abilities and durability but if they were to, idk, break a bone and need to lay in bed for a couple hours, that'd get them very very anxious. And that comes from both the statue and also a huge huge huge need to be "useful" and "productive". Dream was also abused before NM's corruption but their abuse was more like. Being forced to please the villagers and so and so; like, feeling less like themself and more like a tool to others.

But yeah, also while I said that apples wouldn't be a trigger in the sense of making them panic, fire surely is, since it burned the tree down and is very connected to the day of NM's corruption. Basically, I do think that they panic in a major way whenever there's a lot of fire around or something really smells like burning (so imagine the situation whenever Ink tries to cook something and forgets about it later smh) like, those memories of the Day Of Doom would come back FAST.

Also, going back on that time as a statue thing, I've written posts about this before but like, fanfics often end up describing Dream as having "perfect pearly white bones" and like, probably not!! my guy spent 493 years as a statue! stone chips and erodes! their bones probably have small flaws! nothing major, but they're probably imperfect like that!!

This is getting so long, I'm so sorry 😭, I'll just list off some other miscellaneous headcanons that don't need that much more explanation: Dream, again, has AuDHD, but also AvPD (since that includes a LOT of people-pleasing and self-deprecation); definitely a workaholic if I've ever seen one. Dream's canonically demi-aro and ace + implied to be pan (as in, said to not care about the gender of their partner/s, y'know) and I kinda share that but my self-indulgent side wants them to be ominsexual like me (in practice, they're still mspec, all good all good), I headcanon them super duper heavily to be non-binary, like, their gender isn't just "blank", but it's just nothing remotely CLOSE to "man" or "woman". I headcanon them to use they/them and ae/aer :3

And. Oh dear. Oh wow. That's a huge ramble ashjgbsjdfh!! but I mean, you did ask ME, The Dream Guy, to talk about Dream The Guy, so like, yyyyyyup yup yup. But still, I'M SO SORRY THIS IS SUCH A LONG POST 😭😭😭😭😭😭

The Gremlins' Quirks and Habits

I don't think they're particularly quirky people but they do have some habits. Most are normal but some are....eccentric. 🤣🤣

Sylvan

He likes flavoured milk/sweet fruit juice and would get absolutely whiny and annoying (poor Sylvia RIP girl) if he doesn't get his fill of sugary drinks for breakfast. He also has a habit of carrying sweets/food everywhere because he gets hungry so easily. Sylvan has a serious case of lack of boundaries since he tends to live by the rule 'give affection first, ask permission later'. Chaste kisses, bear hugs, head pats, handholding, arm-cling (yes, doesn't matter if you're like, half his size, if he feels like it, he will cling to your arm and put as much of his weight on you as he thinks you can handle) and hair ruffles are his way of greeting 99% of the time. He will only show restraint if his (typically ignored) internal social alarm alerts him that a person is aversed to touch. He has a horrible, terrible, and utterly shameless habit of biting anyone he thought cute. Cute aggression is real with this boy. You could have a totally normal conversation and accidentally do something he thinks is cute and if it's too much cuteness for his non-existent social restraint to stop him, he will just randomly...chomp. None of that bruising marking bite tho (he reserved that for private requests only), but just a light nom. This boy is so oral-oriented.

Sylvia

Tea, and later as they grow older, alcoholic beverages. Sylvia has a habit of casually conjuring a cup/glass and proceeds to pour a cup/glass of her beverage of choice if she feels exasperated but knows that she couldn't nope her way outta there (98% of the time it's because of Sylvan's shenanigans lol). The world could be burning around her but she will still prioritise her drinks first. She stress-workouts. She needs physical activity to cope with stress and anxiety, and this includes the thought of having to socialise. Sylvia is extremely introverted when it comes to socialising. She could command, present, and debate with intimidating charisma but the moment she is asked to socialise in a casual setting, this girl needs her push-ups/laps/any physical activities (and drinks) first. Even then, she will still hide behind Sylvan/Mildred/Riz and avoid interactions at all costs. Has an endearing habit of puffing up her cheeks and scrunching up her face if she couldn't figure out something. She never realised it but every time she is stuck and can't solve/figure out something, she will do it and the next thing she knows her arm just got nommed by her brother; or she will get a random forehead kiss from Riz; or have her puffed cheeks being smooshed and smooched by Mildred. 🤣

Riz

Riz is a creature of routine and habit, and it's all for a good reason. Since he doesn't feel hunger pain, he charmed his pocket watch to vibrate every time he is supposed to eat and drink so that he doesn't forget to do so. However, he does have a habit of needing to have his coffee in the morning, his black tea any time after 3pm, and his chamomile tea/warm milk with honey before attempting to sleep. Among the squad, he might be the best at self-care. Of course, there's the routine self-check for injuries and healing procedure he conducts every time he gets to a safe place after a fight or when he gets home after spending time outside, but he also has other self-care habits that he indulges in. He likes scented things and that transfers to his habit of lathering his hands in lotion almost hourly, adding fragrances to his daily evening bath, and his need for lighting scented candles before he attempts to sleep. Also, around the squad, Riz has an automated habit of giving forehead kisses if he thinks they're acting cute. Since the gremlins have established their boundaries with each other early on, Riz is comfortable approaching them, gently tilting their chin with his hand and giving them a forehead kiss (and a soft 'thank you' for making him smile).

Mildred

Mildred needs her milk tea every morning. She also doesn't like breakfast because she feels the urge to throw up if she eats a full breakfast early in the morning, so she will pack her breakfast and snack on it at smaller time intervals throughout the morning. At Hogwarts, this is right in between classes, and for smaller food items, she would sneakily eat them in class. At home, she would spend at least 15 minutes before starting her day talking to her horse (Orion). While at Hogwarts, she does this with Hazel the Unicorn. If she's in any situation where she can't have Orion/Hazel to talk to, she will resort to her plushies to talk to. She also has the habit of conjuring her plushies and squeezing them whenever she gets nervous or needs a courage boost. Mildred is so attached to her plushies that she makes a plushie resembling everyone she has come to love in her life (yes, she has plushies of the squad.) Similar to Sylvan, she also has an outwardly affectionate habit she practices with everyone she likes. Mildred will smoosh and smooch. If she feels someone in this circle is acting cute, she will giggle and proceed to squish their cheeks in her palm before proceeding to kiss each of their smooshed cheeks (Permanent victim: Sylvan; Favourite victims: Sylvia and Ominis; 'Golden Pokemon victim': Riz 🤣)

I keep starting and stopping with every Hankcon Dads idea I have. Although that does remind me of the Hankconkus Dads one that I never actually started, where Hank has Cole from a previous marriage, Connor has Nines from a messy one night stand situation, and Markus just got custody of his half brother Leo and is new to town, and Hank and Connor help him navigate his new guardianhood and they all three fall in love!

I'm just a childfree asshole who's gotta get all that Hallmark shit out via fanfic, any warm fuzzies just get implanted into my boys.

Beyond repeating my answers for the above? 😂 Lemon Stealing Whore gets an honorable mention, but it's hard to say, I like a lot of Dead Dove topics but I'm pretty predictable, I know I've done some crack ideas before but I cannot remember them, it's not what I'm known for.

Actually, I'd have to branch out of fandom for that, because I've been in another Steven Universe phase, and that just opens up so many doors, the other night we were joking about Steven doing puppy play and actually accidentally shapeshifting into a dog because of how much he felt like a dog 🤣 (real talk tho, boy could just walk around like a furry, at least he could shift some ears and a tail, he just doesn't like to shapeshift) and the idea of Hannibal Lecter being Steven Universe's therapist? Insane concept, wowzers, that'd be so dramatic and funny.

I'm too into open relationships for that mess, like I don't hate them with a burning passion, I know why they exist, but they're just not that much fun and I like established relationships a lot better than a 'will they, won't they' situation. Why can't they all just get along? And smooch?

Like just how Athena took over, how she did it with Janey and Fiona, they're relationship, Janey's hand, their status in the Borderlands and much more.

Like Hyperion falling into what amounts to a civil war with Jack's death, how badly he ran it, and all the money and resources he sunk into Pandora on top of Helios crashing Planetside. Athena and Janey are dragged into one side and Fiona by a another on the company planet of Theia. (The wife of Hyperion and Goddess of sight and brilliance along with gold, silver and gems with their brilliance and value). All three meet once again and start to work together to win control over Hyperion themselves.

ORIGINS

to start, i just want to mention how this au came to be.

it was mostly fun and games tbh, where i was in an era between playing BL3 and BLTPS constantly. although i never used them, i found it ironic that in BL3, the Hyperion weapons had shields extremely similar to Athena’s shield.

since i was SUPER disappointed that Athena didn’t even at least have a mention in an ECHO, and i was SUPER deprived of content of her, i decided to make a FUN, NON-CANON ALTHOUGH HEAVILY LORE-BASED, COMPLETELY SELF-INDULGENT AU where Athena had taken over Hyperion just bc she wanted to 😇 starting this project in 2021, i would work on this on and off for my own enjoyment

HYPERION ITSELF

you were very spot on with the concept of Hyperion being on the planet Theia, i was super confused seeing it bc i never remembered sharing anything about this 😭😭

i wanted Hyperion to be SUPER heavily reinforced, because of how widely loathed the company is, its history, and because of the overall environment of Theia. every few hours, the surface shifts from entire slabs of the floor, taken from the idea of plate tectonics.

i was also gonna work on the unique fauna, just like how Pandora has skags and Eden-6 has jabbers !! i had only given it caracals since they’re my favorite animal :,3

blands LOVES their greek myth motifs so i wanted to apply that here also

a common trend with the corporations was that each tend to have some kind of second base. i used Selene and Eos, since they were also the children of Theia and Hyperion (Helios isn’t present since it crashed obv).

i never had any ideas for Selene, but an idea i had for EOS was that it was an underwater ship.

CHARACTERS

THIS I WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE MOST!!!

a very specific headcanon i have for Athena is that it isn’t her real name. she was very young at the time she was taken into Atlas, where they had actually given the assassins different names. her real name is Gayle Alvarez, to which she rejects as symbolism to how she’s letting go over her past after all these years, accepting who she is now. (she gave herself that last name “Hoplite” tho LMAO)

^^ this all comes from that fact that i was VERY petty over the fact that her sister, Jess, should’ve been named Minerva. it makes more sense to me idk

ANYWAYS this just describes Athena and Janey’s positions in Hyperion just a little bit. Athena is obviously the CEO and Janey has taken position to where she had designed almost everything.

in terms of the third point, i had actually wanted to make the Voice of Hyperion to be a prominent character in here also!! i didn’t get too far with her unfortunately 💔

FUN FACT i was actually also gonna bring HoloJack as a character concept, although he’s just stuck in an ECHO device. i was thinking that in order to run Hyperion, Athena would need the advice of an ex-CEO. they both only agree to an exchange of management tips for a new body. Athena obviously flanks out after getting Hyperion into a suitable condition, then stuffing the ai into a submachine gun and launching it towards the furthest planet 🤔 it was a funny concept but i dropped it after a while

on to something more specific, i do wanna mention this art piece, which ties into another one of my headcanons.

Janey was born on Elpis, being present before and after the Crackening. as it occurred, she had been exposed to whatever unstable eridium had managed to leak through, all without her knowledge—she barely remembers anything of the sort happening

TO SUMMARIZE, Janey is like the Lost Legion Eternals, specifically, a Phasewalker!!!! from the game, the LLEs only ascend once reaching a near-death situation, which explains why Janey never figured it out. the closest she did was when she and her ex gf were mauled by Flamey, where her Phasewalking activated and she managed to get away.

STORY

there is no story, sorry. 😓🤕

the closest i have are unofficial concepts, since i had literally almost zero experience and knowledge in world building.

the main idea i had focused on was something to do with Athena’s old Atlas squad, the Omega Assassins. from some, currently undecided decision, Vulcana, Hera, Minerva, Ceresia, and Helicon found themselves alive, even after supposed elimination from the BL1 Vault Hunters. despite her betrayal, they wanted Athena back, and would do anything to prevent her from settling away.

ALSO, another idea was that after the Omega Assassins found out that Athena was married/engaged, they had cut off her ring finger. this explains why i drew her wearing her rings on a chain near her chest.

below is an extra character development attempt which i had named “scene where janey plays the guitar”

this takes place moments after the assassins kidnap Athena and destroy their home for, again, some undecided reason 😭 i wanted to study Janey’s devotion towards a happy life, since i would also think of her having extreme attachment issues. she’s typically the optimistic character that sees the good through any situation, so i wanted to try to see how she would face against her everything being taken away from her again.

i also gave Janey a resentment of anything that resembles a kraggon, no matter how friendly☝🏼

i wish i had worked on this au so much more than what i shared. i was extremely passionate about it and i kinda still am!! even with how half-assed most of the lore is with blands, i still absolutely DEVOUR any little bit of canon Athena content available.

a COMPLETE story of Hyperion’s Rebirth is unfortunately unlikely now, especially with how it’s heavily implied to be. CANON now 😰😰. i would love to work on it again, but i just don’t really see a reason to 💔

everyone knows god watches over drunkards and lovers: aka this is my extremely self indulgent rpf Scenario that i have been rotating around in my brain since dec 2022 otherwise known as ons au. if you don't wanna read about my gayass band guys look away now. you have been Warned

this au STARTS during the time period tim and ben are roommates in nürnberg. they both know matze, but not gustl (matze knows gustl tho). also you MUST be thinking about these images like this is the start of ons au

anyways. INCITING SCENE:

ben and matze are out wreaking havoc and/or chilling at matze's place or something. basically they're out of tim+ben's place for the night

tim is spending his night bringing home a guy for a one night stand (this is where the au gets its name from). also important: tim's ons looks. Unsettlingly like ben. like, long blond hair, facial hair, tall. if you saw them next to eachother you'd go Hmmmmmm.

anyways. they have a fun night it's fine. tim is like. heart not fully in the spirit of the ons but doesn't know why. but it doesn't ruin any of the fun so it's fine.

next morning, they wake up. tim makes breakfast for them (bc he is a good host) and goes to walk unnamed blonde guy out. however, as they're walking out, guess who is coming back into the apartment? yeah, it's ben and matze.

there's a comedic bit opening the door with:

ben and matze: tired and a little hungover but like. otherwise fine. they just like. chilled and stayed up at matze's apartment and now they're heading over to ben's

vs

tim and unnamed blond guy: tim is like. you can tell he had a ons or whatevs. like. in a tank and u can see some bruises + hickeys or whatever. still has a collar on bc he managed to sleep in it somehow. poor unnamed blonde guy who looks suspiciously like ben is just standing there awkardly

we get a full faceoff that goes:

matze: looks at tim. looks at unnamed blonde guy. looks over at ben. looks back at tim and starts opening his mouth tim: looks at ben. looks over at blonde guy. looks back at ben. OhShit.JPG. turns to look at matze and starts FRANTICALLY beaming Don't Say A Fucking Word vibes at him as hard as possible ben: looks at blond guy. Huh. whatever. then looks at tim. The mechanisms in his brain that end up making him act crazy gay later on start turning into motion unnamed blond guy: looks at ben. then looks over to tim. He Understands Now.

anyways, this all happens simultaneously. everyone then shakes out of it. ben and matze head inside (ben is like. fuck this im sleepy and hungover. bye matze im going. to bed. and matze is like. ok. i am going to wait in the living room for tim i want to say hi to him :)).

OK. that was the inciting scene, and what gives ons au it's name. now in between this and the felsenfest preproduction trip not a Whole ton happens in terms of the au with tim and ben. like, the band starts, and tim and ben are still getting up to their usual nonsense, but not to the Current Crazy Levels

However. Tim also knows about this (note: he did merch for fschwanz just to tour. dtag and fschwanz are often on similar festivals). and ben/hauptmann aren't trying to Hide it. this leads to a dynamic that is like:

FELSENFEST PREPRODUCTION TRIP:

EXPOSITION: for those who don't know: in 2022 tim, ben, and felix (their producer, not taugenix) went up to tyrol for a couple of days to record/write for felsenfest. they rent a little airbnb or whatever. it's cute. now obvs i don’t have the accurate floor plans for it. but. to the best of my knowledge from the video from the patreon (and with some artistic liberties: there are only two bedrooms (and thus beds) (also one of the rooms has like… a nice big tv and the other one Does Not)

so anyways it's like. ben is. i am still undecided on if he knows he's in love or not but like at the very least he does know he's attracted to tim. he's like. not dating or anything tho, and the fwb situation with hauptmann is over

tim is like. fully aware he's in love with ben at this point. just like years and years of pining. also not dating or anything just the occasional ons or whatever

ANYWAYS. they have a nice roadtrip down to tyrol. they get to the house, start unpacking. Hey. Wait. this place only has two bedrooms. we're gonna have three people here. but that’s fine, movies are better watched on a bed anyways. i’m undecided on the movie they watch but i’m thinking they settle on lord of the rings. because they are both nerds.

at this bit there’s a lot of ‘oh god how close can i sit/lay next to him without it being weird’ but it’s mostly resolved by the fact that the comfiest and best way to watch has them both super close anyways.

anyways. like… half of the way through the movie tim starts like falling asleep and leaning onto ben + then jerking awake and watching the movie again. rinse repeat a couple of times and then eventually tim is just like. totally asleep on ben. very comfy. movie ends and ben is like well i can’t just wake him up? there is CLEARLY no other alternative here, i guess we’ll just have to share the bed tonight.

next morning. tim wakes up slowly. goes ‘huh… this is a weirdly large pillow. wait that’s ben. What’! and while this is going on the sunlight is filtering thru the window onto ben. the most beautiful spring morning you could have. all blues and golds. tim carefully extricates himself from this situation and goes to make breakfast because he doesn’t know what to do with himself and staying that close would probably be bad for his mental state AND god forbid felix ends up arriving during that and sees it. like…. if this somehow gets back to matze (who takes great joy in tim’s predicament), god forbid, tim might actually die.

anyways. breakfast! sweet domestic morning + then felix arrives

felix is like i do Not care what you guys decided before i got here about the bed situation. i am not sleeping with EITHER of you. tim and ben are like ok no big deal, we can share (both not mentioning last night). we get the nice room with the tv tho. tim grabs his stuff (barely touched) from the other room and moves it over and that’s that. everyone say thanks felix for helping encourage these mutual pining shennanigans

the rest of day 2 is pretty uneventful, mostly producing and stuff. another fun hike (this time with felix) and doing a little bit of recording outside (fun!)

evening now! felix goes to his room, sees that the bed has like, not been touched at all, and goes ‘huh. i will not think about this any further’

meanwhile tim and ben are doing the ‘let’s not make this awkward and pretend nothing out of the ordinary is going (this is making things more awkward).’ song and dance. but it’s fine + they both fall asleep (separate). but you know how it is and the next morning they both wake up inextricably tangled up together. it’s just like. achingly soft i can’t convey this properly through text. tim pretends to be asleep longer than he is just to stay like that for a tiny bit longer.

nothing more eventful happens honestly, it’s just continual little scenes that are just like. tim being like. ‘fuck. this is the closest to having him i’ll ever get’. that’s really the whole trip honestly i cannot convey it properly it’s just all these achingly tender little moments during dinner and hiking and recording and the evenings together and both of them think it’s all they can get. I've already answered this, with specifics to the les mis fandom so I shall now apply this to fanon in general:

I'm not sure if this is just me being aroace or what but the fixation on needing to constantly ship characters all the time, even if the piece of media itself is void of romance and is all the better for it.

Once again, I'm not saying that you should never engage a media with romance: fandom is a self-indulgent space and projection is the norm. But it is tiring to only see romance and/or smut about a character when you simply want to see meta or non-romantic art/stories/discussions about them. It's similar to that booktok trend of only advertising their stories using tropes (grumpy x sunshine, mlm etc.); if shipping and romance is the only thing that keeps you in your seat WRT a character or even the piece of media as a whole, then it's a pretty sad takeaway from it.

Under 18s look away I guess? Nothing explicit tho: I got into more NSFW fics recently, with tags I never thought I'd click onto. They're extremely well-written and 8 times out of 10, they tend to use smut and kink to delve deeper (hah) into character exploration as well. That's what I like about fanfic/non-profit writing: topics that would often be taboo in mainstream publishing can be safely explored on page and there's no need for censorship or anything palatable! What you see in the tags is what you gonna get; you've been warned after all! Which is why I dislike the recent trend of demanding censorship on Ao3....

I guess I'm 'ashamed/horrified' about this because I am still rather sex-repulsed IRL lol. I read everything up until the actual intercourse and then my eyes glaze over and only refocus during the aftercare. It's crazy.

I hab.. many thoughts.. about JP's laughs;;;; We all know and love his big hammy evil laugh, from his Arcade mode and World Tour's final scenes. Both his English and Japanese voice actors do it so well. It's self indulgent, it's maniacal, it really is a villain's laugh and I love it.

My favorite one tho, has to be lvl 3 CA: the background music will cut out so you hear JUST his laugh during that bit of the animation, and it's sooooo good. The cinematography, his smug expression, his pose with the cane and handkerchief, mwuah it is perfect.

It's also nicely contrasted by his normal lvl 3 super, which has a more subdued and measured out kind of laugh. Still very sinister of course. It's great to hear so many different types of laughs from him!!

And speaking of variety, I also love his softer chuckles when he's emoting in World Tour as you talk to him. He sounds so content and pleased with himself. In some contexts, it's also him smirking at an evil deed done well, which is very cute of him to reminisce about his past like that.

More from in game, goodness, I LOVE his mischievous laugh he does during his Drive Rush!!! Paired with his power walk, it's a bit silly, but he really sounds like he's enjoying the fight (good for him good for him).

He also laughs for his Perfect KO, again, it pairs so nicely with the animation of him sitting on the Psycho Power crystal throne. This one I love for the animation mostly lol, just the fact that he'd goad his flawless victory over you with such an over the top display and laugh. (he's having fun fighting!! good for him!!).

8. Gush about how your F/O acts/ looks when they're flustered!

I feel like JP is a lot about control and keeping his presentation of himself on point all the time, so getting flustered would not only be rare, but would be under extreme circumstances. He'd have to be caught seriously off guard and shocked to be caught acting visibly flustered, which begs the question: what would ever cause him to be that way?!

But whatever the cause, I think he's the 'goes dangerously still and silent, but internally screaming at max volume' kind of flustered. You can tell something just short circuited in his mind and he's scrambling to find an solution, a retort, regain any amount of control in the situation back in his favor. He might laugh a bit to ease the tension, buy himself a few seconds to consider his next move while disarming whatever or whoever made him lose his cool.

I'd like to imagine he'd be quick to regain composure though, given how he's probably been through hell and high water with his life at Shadaloo. Though it's also quite cute to think if he can't come up with anything, he'll actually be at a loss for words. Rather stay silent than say something uncouth or worse, incriminating. At that point, his best option might be to deflect attention to others with a question or change of topic. I'd love to see what would happen if you kept cornering him though, until he has to confront his flusteredness...

16. Gush about your F/O's cuddles!

He probably cuddles tons with Cybele! At least, when Cybele is in the mood and graciously allows his Human Butler to pet him. JP secretly get a bit hurt when he gets rejected by his cat, poor guy.

Otherwise, I can imagine him cuddling with his arms over your shoulders, holding you close and reassuringly. It might feel a bit rigid and practiced on his part, but it's about the sentiment right?

I'd think he'd be more comfortable cuddling or hugging when wearing something more casual and homey, like a nightrobe or something. Clothes that he knows are easier to get cleaned and weren't worth a small fortune to get tailored y'know.

Context wise too, if he's chilling at home, he'd let down the public persona and be at ease enough to cuddle or such. It'd be nice to read books together while sitting side by side on the couch, or in bed before going to sleep. And Cybele can join too for pets and skritches.

January Book Tracker

This is my first time doing this but new year, new way of keeping track of books! Thanks to @waytooseriousabouteverything for the format that I'm stealing :)

Tress of the Emerald Sea: This was the first one of the Brandon Sanderson Kickstarter books and it was SO GOOD. I read it in 2 sittings on accident because I just couldn't put it down. I love the main character (Glorp but she goes by Tress) and her voice - she didn't think she was a hero but kept doing braver and braver things while insisting she wasn't a hero until the end when she's like WAIT... I AM a hero. It was so good and very trope subversive for fantasy. Speaking of fantasy, the magic system was so cool and interesting!! Definitely my fav book of the month, Brandon Sanderson rarely misses for me. Looking forward to the other 3 coming this year!

The Eye of the World: Okay, I did not finish this book. I was having a hard time getting into it, and I mostly started it because I knew Brandon Sanderson finished the series but then I realized there's like 20 books in this series and I just couldn't do it. They're so long. There's so many. I can't.

This Woven Kingdom: I recognized the author name when I saw this and got excited BUT I was wrong about which author it was, so that was disappointing. The plot was very tired but the setting was interesting (Plot: Djinn and humans live together but the human oppress the Djinn, who are magic BUT magic is illegal OF COURSE. Our heroes are the last Djinn queen - who is working as a servant and is the most magic out of anybody- and the human prince of their super oppressive fascist kingdom who falls in love with her instantly) Another bummer was the way Tehereh Mafi writes is really distracting to me, like WAY too many descriptive words and everyone is so dramatic all the time. Extremely cool cover art tho.

Gods of Jade and Shadow: This one I read on @ariestip's recommendation and it was SO fun! It was historical fiction/fantasy set in Mexico, which was new for me. The plot was also pretty unique a human girl and a god become bound together and have to travel across 1920's Mexico to restore his godhood, but the longer they stay bound, the more human he gets. The ending surprised me and was kinda sad, but I really liked it. Definitely will be looking into other books by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

The Empress of Salt and Fortune: Also from @ariestip's list, this was a short story told as memories being recorded by an archivist. The old woman telling the story recounts her time as the handmaiden and confident of a banished empress. It's set in a fantasy location based on imperial China and it gave so many hints about the larger world, I wanted it to be longer! It was VERY good, and also one of the few books I've read with a character with they/them pronouns which really threw me for a second until I figured out what was happening lol but once I got it I appreciated the representation!

Hunger Pangs (+ Crewel Intentions): I finally checked out @thebibliosphere's book! Of course, I got the flirting with fangs edition with all the steamy scenes :) I really enjoyed this one! It felt like the author had a lot of fun writing it and felt very self-indulgent (in the best way) so I had fun reading it. I loved Vlad and his projects and schemes (very relatable) and that it had a happy ending! It did feel like the stakes never got too high, and the saving the world plot point was wrapped up very quickly, but I didn't really have a problem with that since it was more about the romance. Can't wait for the sequel!

Blade Breaker: I really liked the Red Queen series when I read it a few years ago, so I was excited that Victoria Aveyard had a new series, but I had a hard time finishing the first one and I might not even finish this sequel. I don't even know why, I'm just not really into it!

For me, he surprises me with new first-edition books when he can. He knows I'm a reader, and love to collect books, so he likes to indulge that. He never buys me anything he wouldn't read himself, and he swears he has superior taste.

for Togame: shopping for him is so easy! He loves anything I get him, but I've noticed he really enjoys those cheap little blind bags with anime characters in them. He likes to collect them all and I love watching him get all excited when he gets one he doesn't have! We keep them on my manga bookshelves and they're starting to overflow!

Jo always always always brings me home something that makes me think of him. Once it was a bundle of violets someone was selling on the street, another it was a box of cookies from a girl scout, and my personal favorite was when he found a lilac purple journal at the local bookshop that had the letter K on it.

ah, the protagonist syndrome. i feel like mark would fit in very well with a character like yona. noble origins but naive. one day, they would be placed in a situation where everything they believe in is taken away from them and they still manage to remain true to what they believe in. truly good and concerned with the well-being of others and yet a very firm and strong person. easy to adapt, strong and independent. and above all: both are someone who charms and influences everyone around them. leader of a group of very different people. the force that unites them.

huang renjun x yoon

i believe that renjun would also make a lot of sense in other characters, like ki-ja for example, but there is something about him that screams yoon much more than all the others. they both have roles within the group that only they can play, no matter what other internal dynamics are involved. they are the person who is not only there to take care of the group, but is also capable of making so many HARD-HEADED people pull themselves together. they are irreplaceable, although there are those who doubt their value. wonderful heart, very fair and determined. the irritation that happens sometimes is totally understandable, and an added charm.

lee jeno x hak son

okay, hear me out- for some, this may not make much sense, they may think it's self-indulgent because it's jeno and hak-who are simply the characters i love most in the world. the similarities i find in the two seemed very subtle at first, but the more i think about it, the more sense it makes. jeno and hak both have a reputation and a fierce aura about them, they have an enviable physique and skills, but deep down, there's so much more. i think other people sometimes overestimate how much they both are there for the team, and people who really know them know this. they seem to be individualistic but they are incredibly warm. they are the strength of the group and extremely loyal. really, never doubt their loyalty. the most logical, practical people but also the biggest yearner people you will ever meet. they just love truly.

lee donghyuck x jae-ha

i think people could see this one coming. this parallel is fun to analyze even when we compare individual dynamics. i think both jae-ha and donghyuck are controversial personalities. it's easy to like them, but who really sees the nuances of their personalities? life of the party. very witty people, sometimes, to the point of annoys you-but that's their charm. i think donghyuck fits those types of characters who put on a social mask that hides their true thoughts and history. jae-ha deals with problems by making jokes, being irresponsible and is simply TERRIFIED of getting attached, but when he finds the right people, he sees them as family, and in his own way, he protects them and is one of the most observant and warm people out there. when we see their brat ways, we don't imagine how much emotional baggage they carry around. complex, fun, and sometimes a total mystery.

na jaemin x ki-ja

at first, i thought it wouldn't really match, but if we analyze it closely, we can see similarities in small things that are very significant. i think they both have energy spikes sometimes, and they have very subtle personalities. i can see jaemin being pampered and treated like a prince his whole life, and yet having strong opinions about duty and loyalty over what really matters. even the nagging they do it's the same in some ways if we stop and think about it. they're both organized, clean, and both have hearts full of love. their personality can be quite headstrong, straightforward sometimes but still very polite. they're both pretty guys. analyzing the dynamics between the characters and the dreamies, i think this parallel between ki-ja and jaemin makes even more sense.

zhong chenle x zeno

sunshine chenle and zeno are actually so important to me. the way they both communicate, sometimes without much scruple, their constant energy and even how they are kind of foodies is so on point. this parallel makes a lot of sense. the way they present themselves to the world that makes us disbelieve in the possibility that they could have gone through something bad in the past and surprise us with the depth and all the nuances that they have already lived. due to their expansive personality, sometimes it is even difficult to see that they are actually quite complex, and above all, an essential part of the group. the energy, the good humor and all other things sometimes do not make us think how complex they are. they are perceptive, and will not always express it, but when they do, they can be very direct. there is always much more than we see when it comes to them. they have always been there at all times, they have their moments of wisdom and will always be on the front line to protect those who are important to them. kind, energetic and much more than that.
